Welcome to my website. I am John Brice and I have been playing this amazing instrument since July 2000.
Like most people I saw it as a challenge which I slowly overcame and after around 3 months finally managed
basic circular breathing and some semblance of a rhythm.
I have had workshops with quite a few people from time to time, but the one which produced the most dramatic
change to my playing was with Charlie McMahon. He brought together the technique of bounced breathing and rhythms
for me so that I was able to go on and develop my own rhythms and eventually my CD's.
I now do performances as much as I can because I enjoy bringing the sound of this instrument to as many people as possible.
I have performed at the Volvo Ocean Race event in Portsmouth 2006, Midsummer Didgeridu Evening at Cranborne, The Gathering at
Tapeley and the Royal British Legion Club in Blandford as JONGAMI with Gary and Nick.
I have now performed at Didge Head Radio Festival 2008 in north Devon. This was a great weekend with lots of international
performers, Dubravko Lapaine, Gauthier and friends, Marc Miethe, Steve Heath to mention a few. Check
Antic Earthworks to catch up with information and pictures of the event.
JONGAMI is a group I have formed with Nick Cox on flutes, Gary Rowe on guitar & banjo and Miki Fujita on didgeridu and
percussion. We have now finished producing our second CD, Voice of the Forest, which is on sale here
I played in a couple of charity events in Eastleigh in 2007. The main attraction was
Eastleigh Town Band, and they asked me to play when they stopped for a break. It was good to bring the sound of the didgeridu to so many people
