Welcome to my website. I am John Brice and I have been playing this amazing instrument since July 2000.
Like most people I saw it as a challenge which I slowly overcame and after around 3 months finally managed
basic circular breathing and some semblance of a rhythm.
I have had workshops with quite a few people from time to time, but the one which produced the most dramatic
change to my playing was with Charlie McMahon. He brought together the technique of bounced breathing and rhythms
for me so that I was able to go on and develop my own rhythms and eventually my CD's.
Check out my new
Feedback Didgeridu design, it is awsome and is highly recommended, especially for beginners
I now do performances as much as I can because I enjoy bringing the sound of this instrument to as many people as possible.
I have performed at the Volvo Ocean Race event in Portsmouth 2006, Midsummer Didgeridu Evening at Cranborne, The Gathering at
Tapeley and the Royal British Legion Club in Blandford as JONGAMI with Gary and Nick. I also played at the DidgeHead Radio Festival in 2008 and 2009.
March 2009, I have just finished playing at an Australian themed casino night in Broad Chalke near Salisbury. I provided background sounds during the evening and backing for songs in the cabaret
In May 2009 I played at a wedding in Poole, including in the church as part of the ceremony. It was an amazing sound.
I have now performed at Didge Head Radio Festival 2008 in north Devon. This was a great weekend with lots of international
performers, Dubravko Lapaine, Gauthier and friends, Marc Miethe, Steve Heath to mention a few.
I provided didgeridu workshops at the Hanger Farm Arts Centre in July 2011 as part of their open day.
I play in events in Southampton and the local area. It is good to bring the sound of the didgeridu to so many people
